FAQs
Is the box evidence - based?
Yes it is! We work with The Melbourne Clinic (TMC) Psychiatric hospital (Healthscope) and The University of Melbourne to research what we do. We also give boxes away for free to young people under 25 admitted to TMC to help with their recovery journey as an inpatient and once discharged.
What is in the box?
There are different box options. They all include a range of heavily researched sensory items which help people to manage distress and regulate emotions when they are heightened. We also send you our self care plan and give you access to our guided videos when you buy a box. These extra resources allow young people and their families to develop a wider range of healthy coping strategies for skilfully managing tough times. Click below to explore our I.A.M Boxes.
What does the box do?
Engaging with your box items in the way that we explain how to do in our hard copy instructions and online videos helps you to connect with your values and the present moment during tough moments when you need support so you can have more control of the choices you choose to make.
The coping plan we share along with the box is for crisis management, or even lower level stress too but it’s a game plan of healthy strategies you develop and work through with a loved one when you need support to help reduce your level of distress.
Is it for a recommended age group?
We’ve had people buy it for ages 5+ we even get adults buying it too! They’re super useful skills for the whole family to know and have.
